The challenges have barely begun but already the sponsorship is coming in. Thank You
In 2016 I turned 40, something I was not looking forward to. However when it happened I had a great time and also used it to take stock of life. One thing I decided was to try and take control of my physical well being.
I have been training and have discovered the joy that running brings. So I am undertaking a number of challenges through 2017.
To start I will be taking part in:-
- London Winter Run 10k on 5th February
- Bath Half Marathon on 12th March
- Richmond Park 10k on 1st April
- Great Run Bristol 10k on 7th May
- Torbay Half Marathon on 25th June
- The Shakespeare Summer Half Marathon 29th July
- Bristol Half Marathon on 17th September
Other challenges will be added in time.
As part of my challenges I wanted to raise money for good causes. My best friend, Ben Stock's dad suffered and ultimately passed away due to Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML). He was given the best chance of recovery after a bone-marrow transplant from his Sister. Although it didn't cure him, it gave the family one last treasured Christmas together.
Seeing a family go through so much, like many others, is hard and if I can do a little bit to help raise awareness and funds to aid research then all the better.
Any spare cash would be great for the charity, you can visit my JustGiving Page to donate, and as well as sponsoring me, you can also do your bit by joining the bone-marrow register. It's so easy to do. Simply send off for a cotton wool swab from www.dkms.org.uk/en/register-now
